We all know there are no magic cures for our "cosmetic hang-ups" but there are ways to improve the appearance of said, naturally and gently.
Here is a simple, effective little recipe for controlling cellulite.
Instructions:
Prepare a mixture of 50mL Palma Christi castor oil and 30 drops of grapefruit essential oil (optional: include some orange or lemon essential oil) in a glass* container.
Massage the area where cellulite appears with this mixture every evening before bed. After 7-10 days you will begin to see the difference, continue until desired look has been achieved.
Nothing "new under the sun" here, this combination was used by the Egyptians to control cellulite.
Julie's Testimonial - Quebec City (Canada):
"I'm 25 and I use the Palma Christi and grapefruit essential oil recipe to fight cellulite, which I discovered on an information flyer. I am delighted with the results; in addition to cellulite disappearing, my legs no longer hurt. This little trick works very well for me!"
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a mixture of fat, fluid and toxins trapped in the connective tissues of the skin. You can think of it as captured waste within the fatty areas of the body. It affects 85% of women who have gone through puberty. Men don’t seem to suffer from cellulite as much as women because it is estrogen that makes us store fat around our bottoms and thighs.
Poor lymphatic drainage of the tissues, coupled with a breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis causes the skin to no longer hold the tissue tightly. The dimply, "cottage cheese", appearance of the fatty tissue is what we call cellulite. Poor diet, lack of exercise, contraceptive pills, age, alcohol, cigarettes, and fat genes (thanks Mom!) all contribute to these unsightly dimples (like the skin of an orange).
Unfortunately, cellulite doesn’t improve with time and few women are spared from its appearance (even "hot" celebrities suffer from cellulite). But with a proper care and attention, you can help ensure the future is peachy, not orangey!
To help reduce cellulite drink more water, exercise regularly, improve your posture, eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, practice deep breathing and reduce stress.
This is just in time for the nice summer weather! (wink!)
