Hair Cleanser

Yes! You can:
- clean and condition your hair without foamy bubbles
- go without a daily "shampoo"
- have an honest-to-goodness "healthy" head of hair!

This hair cleanser has no detergents or surfactants to force your scalp into an un-natural "oil over-production" cycle.

Use Ghassoul Paste hair cleanser 2-3 times per week, rinsing hair during other bathing times.

Make a Ghassoul Paste:
(quantities will vary with length of hair to be washed)

For short to medium length hair:

In an 8oz bowl, add 4 oz of water. Slowly and carefully add enough dry Ghassoul to absorb all the water. Stir to combine. The consistency you want is that of melted milk chocolate.
Optional: for added benefit add 1tsp Palma Christi castor oil to the ghassoul paste.*

Wet hair. Apply ghassoul paste to head, working into scalp, smooth flat. Let clay set while you shower (5-10 min. if possible) then rinse well under warm running water (until water runs clear).

*Time Saver!
This is helpful when short on time in the morning. As above, add Ghassoul to water (but do not mix!) then top with castor oil and leave on counter over night. The castor oil will prevent the clay from drying out and your hair cleanser will be ready to stir-up and use just in time for your morning shower!

Castor Oil Shivers

Category: Castor Oil Exposť
Posted: 2007-03-24 18:17

Mention castor oil to anyone over 50 and they will likely shiver and even wince from long ago memories which imprinted permanent emotions set in place to hopefully protect them from suffering ever again at the wrong end of a spoonful of castor oil.

During the early to mid 1900's castor oil was associated with good health during the cold winters burdened with a minimal number of sunlight hours.
However, the strong taste of the heavy oil and its "effect" will make many, after the recognizable shiver, change the subject in a current conversation.

I am delighted to have this opportunity to offer relief for those who shudder with the "castor oil shiver" by providing a whole new perspective on the slick stuff, while, simultaneously, enlightening more recent generations about its virtues!

Join me on my visit "through the looking glass" to the other side of castor oil, one that starts from the OutsideIn!
