Leg Cramps

Category: Therapeutic Solutions
Posted: 2009-02-24 10:55

Some muscle cramps and spasms are due to over-use and some due to under-use.

One culprit of leg and foot cramps (oh, so very painful ... speaking from experience) is stress.

Stress reduces our bodies uptake and use of magnesium. Although, frequently a calcium deficiency is the first thing that comes to mind, you will notice that calcium supplements are more often than note bonded with magnesium. Magnesium is needed for the body to properly assimilate the calcium.

Lost yet?!!??

The bottom line, again, is to reduce stress. We can't remove it completely but we can make choices to reduce it here and there. We can also make choices about how we react to situations.

To get stressed or not to get stressed?
This is my question for you today!

Toenail Fungus (Onychomycosis)

Category: Therapeutic Solutions
Posted: 2009-02-11 22:38

This is a problem that is, well, not pretty but needs to be addressed!

A fungus grows only when it is fed. In our bodies that can be bacteria food or even sugar! Whether a yeast infection, athlete's foot, or onychomycosis, the body's defenses need to be restored and strengthened. Chose filtered water, lean meats, and lots of veggies in your diet - the more veggies you can eat raw the better!

Signs: thickening of the nail, brownish/yellowish discolouration of the nail, brittle/crumbling nail(s).

For topical treatment: blend one part tea tree oil into four parts Palma Christi l'Originelle castor oil and apply to cover the nail and the surrounding nail-bed once daily.

For best results, after bathing, apply castor oil liberally at bedtime and wrap with a piece of castor oil-soaked white flannel, wrap with a strip of gauze bandage to hold flannel in place, and cover with a white sock. In the morning, wash the area, dry well, and re-apply a thin layer of castor oil.

Apply this topical treatment until area appears to be healed. BUT, do apply castor oil morning and night for a minimum of 6 months to kill all the spores and completely destroy the fungus while the nail regenerates.

Do not wear polish on toenails during this treatment. While wet, the nailpolish chemicals will be absorbed into your body as the castor oil penetrates. After the polish dries it will form a barrier preventing oxygen contact.

Note: If sensitive to tea tree oil, dilute one part oregano oil in four parts castor oil.
